Volume 1: Theory and Method
By David K. Clark & Robert V. Rakestraw
Answers to such questions may differ widely, even among evangelical Christians. This can be confusing and disturbing when secular and Christian worldviews collide over matters that seem to brook no compromise.
This first of what will be a two-volume collection of writings uncovers foundational philosophies of theory and practice to show why differences run so deep. This is the only book providing such an overview from an evangelical viewpoint. Volume 2 will compare these viewpoints as they relate to specific issues.
The selections are by well-regarded evangelicals, among them J. I. Packer, Helmut Thielicke, John Frame, Gordon Fee, Stephen Charles Mott, J. P. Moreland, and Lewis Smedes. The reader learns why these leaders, who share so much in the way of faith, may occasionally disagree so passionately.
Students in ethics classes and pastors who preach on ethical problems will find this resource valuable in developing abroad understanding. Laypeople will find it an excellent introduction to the views behind many debates.
